  1. Hi. I’m fourteen years old, and have alot of experience in drawing manga, so if you accept critism like a true Manga-ka, then hear me out. First off your backgrounds, animals, shading, details, and stuff like that are great. But i must say your character drawings arent very good in the face. Not only that, but the drawing is outdated. Try looking at some new manga to increase your art skills.

    1. Thanks Amari for your suggestions. You are very young and you are growing up with a new style of manga. A lot of the younger generation like you prefer the newer style then the “old” one. A manga that is five or six years old is already considered old. Inuyasha, for example, is considered an old manga and anime. I grew up watching anime and reading manga since the mid 80’s and I prefer the old style. Consider also, that my characters are Americans and the story is sets in the old American Frontier. I don’t vision Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer in an androgen looking neither in a too Japanese style. It won’t match the characters and the story. Huck and Tom are two young teenagers from Missouri and in the original novel they weren’t popular for their beauty. I begun drawing Legends of the West more then ten years ago, I know that my style is outdated but I won’t start all over just to match the mass production of manga and anime that is going on now. Be an artist sometimes means to go in a different direction from the mainstream even if it means less popularity.
